The Zoom XYH-6 XY Microphone Capsule for Zoom H5 | H6 Field Recorders is an interchangeable component in Zoom’s H5 and H6 modular recorder system. The capsule features two matched unidirectional microphone elements positioned in an X/Y pattern with an adjustable angle of between 90 and 120 degrees. This arrangement enables allows the recorder to pickup sounds in a cardioid polar pattern, and is predominately sensitive to sounds directly in front of the recorder and less sensitive to sounds on the side or to the rear of the device. The XY pattern allows recordings played back in mono to have a fuller sound than would normally be possible from a single microphone element. The unit can be used for a wide range of applications including studio, live performance, rehearsals, and TV broadcast, among others.
The H2n Handy Recorder is the only portable recording device to come with five built-in microphones and four different recording modes: X/Y, Mid-Side, 2-channel surround and 4-channel surround. Other advanced features include automatic gain control and onboard MS decoding, plus effects like compression, limiting and low cut filtering. You can even use the H2n as a multi-purpose USB microphone!
