Rycote Stereo Windshield Ws Ae Ortf Kit (Lemo)
Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit (LEMO)
Product Code: 080212
Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit (LEMO) is suitable for ORTF configuration with compact condenser microphones including a Schoeps CCM pair. (LEMO Connbox included)
Main Benefits:
The Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit (LEMO) includes a Connbox with detachable 130mm Binder cables with LEMO termination for use with Schoeps CCM mics and a Binder to 5-pin XLR output cable for additional protection from cable-borne noise. It also includes a Lyre suspension, a cable clamp, and a 145mm Stereo Windshield & Windjammer large enough to comfortably accommodate the microphones. A specially designed Rycote mounting adapter bar keeps the microphones at the correct spacing and angle for ORTF recording, and the Lyre suspension and shared windshield combine to provide a solution that is extremely resistant to wind noise and unwanted vibrations and handling noise.
The Rycote ORTF Kits are perfect for ORTF stereo recording which was pioneered by the engineers at the French state broadcaster in the 1960s, and is defined as using a stereo pair of microphones with the capsules spaced 17cm apart, and at an angle of 110 degrees to each other.
In addition to the LEMO version, we offer two other variants of the ORTF kit:
Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit (MZL) includes a Connbox with detachable 130mm Binder cables with Lemo termination for use with Sennheiser MKH 8000 Series mics and a Binder to 5-pin XLR output cable.
Stereo Windshield WS AE ORTF Kit (Connbox not included), suitable for a pair of Schoeps CCM or Sennheiser MKH 8000 mics.
The windshield body length is calculated by adding microphone length + XLR (5 cm or 2”) of the LONGEST microphone, in the M/S pair.
The suspension is determined by the diameter of the microphones. Any combination of the following can be made: 19 mm, 21 mm, 25 mm Round & 25 mm Square (for example for the MKH 416/MKH 30 the clips are 19/25Rd & 19/25Sq)

Tiffen 77mm Circular Polarizer
Tiffen 77mm Circular Polarizer Filters – Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
If you’re out walking on a lovely day – in the mountains or at the beach – and you want to get a fabulous shot of a cloud-filled sky or make the water seem more saturated, then a polarizer is the way to go. This filter is the best way to make the clouds stand out, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean or increase or decrease the reflection off the water. You can also use this filter when shooting into glass or windows since it will, again, either increase or decrease reflections.
If you’re shooting black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try throwing on a #25 Red filter. The vista will take on the appearance of an imminent, ominous storm.
Along with a UV or Skylight Filter, a polarizing filter should be a part of everyone’s gear bag. It can turn a run-of-the-mill image into a stunning, creative photo by increasing color saturation.
This filter eliminates ultraviolet rays from outdoor shots as well as polarizing the light to remove reflections, and increase color saturation, without affecting the overall color balance
Can dramatically enhance a blue sky and make the clouds more prominent
Used best at right angle to the sun
Effective with cameras that use beam splitters in the path of the TTL light meter and with AF cameras
