A combined Windshield and Suspension solution, the kit contains everything needed to protect a handheld digital recorder from outdoor wind noise, and also to isolate it from unwanted vibrations, whether from handling or stand-borne noise. It is aimed at journalists, film-makers, or anyone using a handheld digital recorder to make professional-quality audio recordings outdoors. It can be used location soundtracks or outside broadcast, or for simple audio podcasts or outdoor radio reporting.

Featuring the new 1/4″ to 3/8″ Swivel Adaptor, the suspension fits any portable recorder with a 1/4″ female thread. The suspension can then be mounted on a 3/8″ male thread, mic stand or boom pole, or be attached to a camera hot shoe. The 180° swivel allows for easy orientation of the recorder so it can point in the exact direction of the speaker.

The XLR Holder Mk II fits between any 3/8″ male threaded boom pole or mic stand and any 3/8″ female microphone shock-mount or windshield system

Main Benefits:

The XLR Holder Mk II fits between any 3/8″ male threaded boom pole or mic stand and any 3/8″ female microphone shock-mount or windshield system. The holder securely grips all XLR connectors, at a set distance from the side of the pole to prevent the XLR becoming unclipped or making noise.

The XLR Holder Mk II is also strong enough to support the fitting of most standard plugon transmitters. The XLR Holder Mk II is made from a metal replacement polymer, developed in the automotive industry for SUV door handles. The material has metal properties in terms of stiffness, but with a rubber additive to reduce the brittleness and a UV stabiliser to prevent breakdown in UV light.

The XLR Holder Mk II will be supplied as standard at no extra charge in Modular Suspensions and all Mono & Stereo Windshield Kits. Or it is available to be purchased separately.

Connbox CB10 (LEMO)

The Connbox has been designed to isolate and greatly reduce handling and cable-borne noise to the microphone. Connbox CB10 (LEMO) is suitable for single Schoeps CCM_L in a WS 9 Kit. The Lemo tail is hardwired to the Connbox.

An effective and ready-to-use solution to connection problems, the Connbox will enable professional sound recorders to achieve clean, high quality audio recordings.

Acting as a transition connector and anchor point for the microphone tail, the lengths of cable are set to work perfectly with the microphone fitted in the windshield, without touching the internal surface of the basket. The soft cable then greatly reduces the transmission path of cable-borne noise, thus further reducing cable rumble.

The Connbox is made of the highest quality components, using Gold 3-pin Neutrik X-series XLR connectors, and an ultra soft Mogami star-quad cable.

Connbox 6 is suitable for a M/S stereo pair of Schoeps CCM in a mono extended ballgag with Lemo connectors
