This complete modular system can be configured to allow almost any microphone to be shock-mounted and provided with varying degrees of windshielding. Components may be ordered separately, or as one of a series of kits, which simplify the selection process for many common configurations. A Modular Windshield Kit is comprised of the following three main components: Modular Suspension, Modular Windshield and Windjammer.

Modular Suspension

Our suspensions provides complete isolation against handling noise and cable-borne noises, by supporting the microphone in a cradle arrangement using Lyre suspension webs.
Windshield

The Windshield basket completely surrounds the microphone and its connector, sliding onto the Modular Suspension to provide up to 30dB of wind noise attenuation. This is the first layer of windshielding protection for your microphone.

Windjammer

The Windjammer introduced by Rycote in 1985, is high quality synthetic fur covers, designed to fit perfectly over the Modular Windshield. It gives an additional 20dB of wind noise attenuation. Fitted with a drawstring & toggle to allow snug and easy fitting. Modular Windshield Kits, including zipped Windjammer are also available on request.

InVision Universal Pop Filter

6″ vocal pop shield with universal suspension clamp

Main Benefits:

The InVision Universal Pop Filter has been specifically designed to optimise vocal performances, utilising a custom mesh capable of attenuating low-frequency vocal pops and thumps by up to 20dB, and causes no audibly detectable high-frequency loss, unlike many ordinary nylon pop screens.

The pop filter’s ergonomic frame is designed for placement near the mouth and face of a vocal artist, and fits a specially manufactured acoustic foam mesh filter, which can be removed for cleaning or replacement (spare foams are available separately).

The Pop Filter is designed to lock tightly on the USM’s outer support ring, but will equally fit almost any other mic suspension thanks to its universal screw clamp.

Modular Windshield WS 9 Kit (LEMO)

The Modular Windshield 9 Kits are the ideal solution for compact microphones. A smaller version of the Rycote Modular Windshield Kits, the 9 Kit offers maximum isolation from wind and handling-noise. The 9 Kit (LEMO) is suitable for Schoeps CCM.

Main Benefits:

 Modular Windshield WS 9 Kit offers a unique and highly effective solution for compact condenser microphones requiring wind protection and maximum shock isolation. It completely surrounds the compact microphone, sliding onto the XX-Small Suspension to provide up to 25dB of wind noise attenuation. The wind attenuation performance is equivalent to a Rycote full sized Windshield yet in a much smaller and lighter package – only 170mm x 105mm including end caps.

High quality synthetic fur-cover Windjammer for WS 9 provides the highest possible protection against extreme wind-noise. When using a Windjammer fitted over a Windshield up to 35 dB of windnoise attenuation can be achieved, producing excellent exterior audio recordings.

The InVision Studio Kit is a complete suspension and pop filter system, which combines the Universal Studio Mount (USM) with a new Universal Pop Filter to make a complete vocal microphone suspension and pop filter system that will accommodate virtually any microphone.
