Tiffen 77mm Variable ND-WW
The 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter from Tiffen offers a unique way of maintaining total control over your depth of field as well as presenting an efficient way to create some special effects. The filter is designed with a built-in rotating ring that controls neutral density ranging from 2 – 8 stops (0.6- 2.4). The heavier the density, the slower your shutter speed will be. This longer exposure allows the shutter to remain open long enough to record the same amount of light but will also create movement within the shot. Another major benefit of this filter is the elimination of having to buy and carry around individual neutral density filters. With this one filter, you can rotate to the degree of ND you want – a real time and money saver.
Simply mount the filter on your lens, set it to “Min” density then frame and focus. Care must be taken with focusing at heavier densities to make sure focus is accurate. However, if it isn’t, switch to manual focus and rotate to the desired degree of filtration.
For example, if your standard exposure without the filter is 1/500 @ f/8 and you then set the filter to “Min”, you change the shutter speed to 1/125 at the same aperture – thereby losing 2 stops of speed while gaining a hint of “blur” in the image. If that’s not enough filtration, continue rotating the filter until you reach the shutter speed you desire. Using the above example, you can even get down to 1/2 second @ f/8 (8 stops). It should be noted that the calibration marks on the filter ring are to be used only for reference and should not be regarded as accurate settings for specific densities.
A Neutral Density filter is used to create some unusual special effects such as capturing the “blur” of the rippling water of a waterfall or the swirling effect of city traffic. Since it allows the use of slower shutter speeds in bright light, it becomes possible to create these special effects that would normally not be possible to capture without the filter. And, since it can also help to control your depth of field, it permits you to shoot at wider apertures. Ultimately, its value is in helping to prevent bright, overly washed out images shot in bright light.
The ColorCore process allows Tiffen to control the color and density of their filters, and the characteristics of special effects filters with much greater accuracy than typical dyed-in-the-mass filters, which usually exhibit color and density variations. In this way, Tiffen can better control the various densities of their filters and thereby create more exact degrees of filtration.
Thin Profile Ring (9mm) – The wider front filter ring helps reduce the possibility of vignetting (the darkening of corners) at wide angle and is not deep enough to accommodate a lens cap
It allows you to have continuous control over the amount of light coming through your lens in an approximate range of 2 (ND 0.6) to 8 (ND 2.4) stopsSKU: TIF-77VND -

Tiffen 82mm Black Pro Mist 1/8
The Tiffen 82mm Black Pro-Mist 1/8 Filter helps to reduce the value of the highlights while slightly lowering the overall contrast. This filter is especially useful for smoothing out and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes. While designed for use with movies, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters provide little loss of detail across the image. The 1/8 density provides less contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, while still allowing for a soft, pastel-like quality of light.
Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Tiffen 82mm Circular Polarizer
Tiffen 82mm Circular Polarizer Filters – Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
If you’re out walking on a lovely day – in the mountains or at the beach – and you want to get a fabulous shot of a cloud-filled sky or make the water seem more saturated, then a polarizer is the way to go. This filter is the best way to make the clouds stand out, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean or increase or decrease the reflection off the water. You can also use this filter when shooting into glass or windows since it will, again, either increase or decrease reflections.
If you’re shooting black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try throwing on a #25 Red filter. The vista will take on the appearance of an imminent, ominous storm.
Along with a UV or Skylight Filter, a polarizing filter should be a part of everyone’s gear bag. It can turn a run-of-the-mill image into a stunning, creative photo by increasing color saturation.
This filter eliminates ultraviolet rays from outdoor shots as well as polarizing the light to remove reflections, and increase color saturation, without affecting the overall color balance
Can dramatically enhance a blue sky and make the clouds more prominent
Used best at right angle to the sun
Effective with cameras that use beam splitters in the path of the TTL light meter and with AF camerasSKU: TIF-82CP -

Tiffen Variable Viewing Filter (ND .6 – 2.4)
The Tiffen Variable Viewing 0.6 to 2.4 Filter is designed to be held over a cinematographer or photographer’s dominant eye and allows the primary effect of a neutral density filter to be conveniently previewed. By turning its rotatable front ring, this filter’s 0.6 to 2.4 density reduces apparent exposure by 2 to 8 stops. Within that density range, different amounts of exposure reduction on a scene or image can be conveniently compared. The most desirable density can then be chosen, and using separately available lens filters, applied to a camera system with exposure settings that initially correspond to the amount of brightness perceived by the unaided eye.
Separately available, 49mm screw-on filters can be connected to the rotatable ring’s front threads, providing the ability to preview a wider variety of filter effects in combination with an increase in density. For easy, repeatable control over density settings regardless if a 49mm screw-on filter is connected to it, the rotatable ring is also visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values.
This filter is constructed from Water White glass for increased optical clarity, and its aluminum-alloy filter ring assembly is durable while remaining lightweight. A 1″ handle behind the rotatable ring enables comfortable, two-handed operation when adjusting density settings, while a detachable, 20″ nylon lanyard allows the Tiffen Variable Viewing 0.6 to 2.4 Filter to be worn around one’s neck, helping to ensure that it stays within reach during use.
